Default take a hp guess on this setup....

well, a friend of mine is going to be hittin the dyno soon. i won't release his name or post pictures of his car for secruity purposes, but i'd like to get some opinions on how much his setup will make.

it's the basic lsvtec setup

Head:
b16a head
skunk2 IM
stock throttle body
stainless steel exhaust valves (stock intake valves)
GSR cams
JG cam gears
aem fuel rail

block:
b18b 81.5mm bore
polished and balanced ls crank
ls eagle rods
9:1 cp pistons
blockguard (FTW )
oem headgasket
golden eagle lsvtec kit

turbo kit:
drag manifold
turbonetics deltagate
garrett t3/to4e .48a/r .57trim
3inch downpipe
open dumptube routed to the ground
2.5inch ic pipes
huge fmic (12x??x3.5)
dsm bov

fuel setup:
walbro 255 inline fuel pump
b&m fpr
saturated RC750's

fuel management:
hondata s100b

looking to go 18psi. i think the turbo is maxed out at that point.

gsr tranny if that matters.

lets get some commentary. i'd like to know what should be added or removed or changed. thanks in advance.

the sky is the limit.

get a different turbo, and larger injectors becuase you are going to max them out quickly

Look at Chrome instead of the hondata.. unless you have already purchased it

not my setup. not my money. where do u get chrome from? hehe

i told him that hondata is just a piggy back like crome, but he chose it anyways. i told him that his turbo is too small, but he's gonna stick with it because he had it on his older setup.

the injectors are fine in my opinion. no need for 1000cc injectors. it's not gonna make more than 500hp.

well the block could go as far as 600 hp on stock slevees but the turbo and the injectors are around 450 to 480

that's what i'm thinking...but i'm not too sure what's the max hp output of a t3/to4e with a .48a/r...i was starting to wonder if the turbo would max out at 400? but i've seen some people only put down like 350

Hondata is not a piggyback, nor is Chrome.
Hondata has a couple systems, s100 works like a chipped ECU
the S300 is fully programmable without the need of a chip burner (hooks up to laptop)

Chrome is free but you need a chipped ecu to run it on.

Piggy back systems take the data from your sensors and changes it before sending it to the ECU so that the ECU thinks everything is normal, then the ECU outputs a signal and the piggy back changes the signals again to what you set them to.
These systems tend not to work as well because they do not have as much adjustability and features as Hondata or Chrome

thanks for correcting the conception. i call it a piggy back system because they work off the stock oem ecu. like the ecu is the base or is supporting the system in a sense. so say the ECU is person A and Hondata/Crome is person B, its like person A is carrying person B on their back; looks like a pig back ride

i have just about the same exact motor and turbo setup, but i had the .63 exhaust.

i made 261 on 7psi, so im thinkning its like 14hp per psi coming off a baseline of 160ish. 440whp and 20psi sound pretty dead on to the turbo's max, id expect your friend to make 380-400, but the .48 is gonna make the torque fall off id assume, and power will follow. ps dont forget about the creep possiblity with the deltagate

ok here are the results. 346hp on CROME. he couldn't find a hondata tuner, so went crome instead.

here where i'm a bit confused. on the laptop, it's saying 10psi and on the boost gauge it's saying 20psi.

any opinions? comments?

split the diff.... you were running 15psi , I dont understand why someone can tune crome but not Hondata.... and trusted person can tune anything, might just take a little longer.

lol i guess the deal is that they don't have the hondata program on their laptops

looks like it is probably running 15psi, the map sensor is uncalibrated and the ecu is probably thinking it's running 10psi. do you think there'll be a problem if the map sensor is fixed?

Well an uncalibrated map will def. do it, BTW... I am pretty sure the Hondata software is downloadable, as is any software. Next time tell them **** smokers to DL the stuff, they work for you, not the other way around

The only way to get tuning software is to buy a dealer kit.

I know, i used to deal and tune Hondata.

Above statements were made for S200

S300 comes with tuning software, so any monkey with a wideband and a laptop can expletive their cars up
