Default Clutch pedal feel in a 2000 Civic (Hatch)

I have a 2000 Civic hatch with a GSR motor. I noticed that there is some "slack" in the clutch pedal - i.e. I am able to move it about 1 to 1.5" of "empty" travel space before it feeling the resisting/engaging the clutch. I tried adjusting the screw behind the pedal (ended up maxing it out actually), and after pressing the pedal a couple of times things were back the same way they were - same amount of slack.

Is my master clutch cylinder an issue, is it the pedal itself, or is this normal?

TIA

try and bleed the clutch system, sometimes when any part of the system has been removed or any when fluid has fallen real low that air is drawn into the master cylinder.
its the same way has if you were bleeding the brakes system.

Already bled the system several times. It feels fine, aside from the "slack" in the pedal. Any other possibilities?
