I have a 2000 civic non vtec (i think it's obd2b) and going to buy an obd1 gsr swap. Is the 99-00 civic si wireing harness the only one that will work?

I was searching and found people were using obd2 to obd1 converter? Can I get one of those or only the si one will work?

You can purchase an OBD2b to OBD1 converter harness.

You absolutely do not need an si harness you need a jumper and will add the vtec, knock sensor wiring on the side. The only other change needed will be to convert the 3 wire iac plug into a 2 wire plug . (Search feature)

Ps I do not know why people constantly think that you need an si harness foe ek swaps...every single ek swap that we do at the shop uses the existing harness on the car.

yes he is correct i have done the same and we know what we speak just use your civic one plug in all the sensors and extend wires where needed switch plugs where needed and run wires to ecu for things that the civic diddnt have example iab egr so on so on. and get a jumper and your good to go dont listen to these peeps that say you need a si harness if they got one they wasted there money big time.

99-00 civic's have the dizzy's wired differenty from what i understand the plugs are different than 96-98 an the 99-00 Si's thats why you use the Si harness on 99-00 cars... they have an extra wire plus the plug is different from what i understand.. plus it would a heck of alot easier for him if he doesn't have alot of wiring experiance
