Obd-1 and Obd-2 Question on a swap.
Wanted to know i was doing some research and wanted to know thats the differant in a 94-95 GSR swap and 96-01 GSR swap going in my Ek. Any harder? Also i wanted to Hopefully put in a JDM engine cause i got hook ups on them cheaper.
I know on a jdm i have to exstend the wires cause its RHD vs LHD. and i heard i gotta use a 99-00 Si harness or 96-00 ex (5speed) harness. Love to heard your imput guys.

you can use your ek harness and add the wires for vtec
your ek is a manual right?
if you buy the 00si harness then i think it will be all plug and play
a 94-95 gsr is obd1, so you would need to change the ecu to obd1 (i think that would be a bitch , and not to mention very illegal)
a 01 gsr would be more simple, just use the p72 and viola

even if you used the SI harness it wouldnt be plug and play.. you have to run the wires for your secondary intake butterflies (IAB). the SI did not come equipped with this. so my for the money and headache of trying to find an SI harness, i would use youre stock EK harness and run the extra wires for the rest.

I actually used the EK harness on the new engine, AND belive it or not.. used the EK injectors and fuel rail. so no rewiring issues. Then used the P72 ecu with a Skunk2 conversion harness.
Then just add the extra wires for vtec, knock ( i think ) , and the intake butterflies... I think that's all... and run those wires to the ecu.
