turbonetics waste gate inspection???

Default turbonetics waste gate inspection???

i was wondering on if anybody would know how to inspect a turbonetics deltagate?
bought it used. i just need to know what to look for and how to tell if the wastegate is a good working one?

You can run compressed air into the bottom port and look for smotthness while opening. You can also take the wastegate apart by unscrewing all the phillip screws. You will want to inspect the diaphram and make sure there are no tears that will induce boost leaking into the top section and create spiking issues. Pretty much thats it.

As a distributor... I couldn't add anything else. If you have a pump of some sort that will messure boost, you can always hook that up as well too.

i dont quite get it, dosen't the wastegate run on vaccume? and you are talking about the nipple port aren't you?

, pressurize the bottom port using a regulator with a gauge on it, so you can see how much pressure it takes to open the valve. Also while doing that, you can spray soapy water on the top port to see if the air is leaking through the diaphragm. I'd definitely open it up and inspect the diaphragm, just be careful when putting it back together so you don't damage the diaphragm.
