i just boosted my 96 civic ex, i bought a boost controller and a gauge but havent recieved them yet...i was just wondering what the boost is when the top line of the waste gate isnt connected to n e thing...btw its a t3/t4 turbo

 

are you running an internally gated turbo, or external wastegate?

if you dont have your vital gauges i would even try anything stupid my friend in his sol didnt have his boost guage in and i told him not to even drive his **** and he "knew" how much boost he was running a week later pop blew his motor cuz he didnt know how much boost he was pushin be smart dont try it out

 

Yeah I would have to say you need to be hooking up a boost gauge asap before you drive.

 

yea im holding off on driving it...just waiting for my gauges and boost controller to get in, if i do drive it, i dont take it over 4k rpm...that should be safe right? btw how much boost can a stock d16y8 block handle? with minor fuel upgrades..

 

none, the bottom ends suck, the oil pump is very inadequate. however boosting it wont make it any worse. the level of boost it can handle directly applies to the tune.
