okay, having some power issues. my car wont crank without the help of cables. there is no battery sign or check engine light. the car would drive for a good 5mins or so then it would start to lose power. it would also sound to be misfiring. you can hear pops pops pops in between the exhaust sound.

did u make sure the wires off the engine harness are screwed into the fusse box in the engine bay?

is your start powered directly to the battery?

grounded?

 

sounds like alt aint charging the batt.... check fuse 15 (i think) under ur dash... its the alt/speed sensor fuse... if not its plolly ur alt

 

Sounds like a ground issue to me. Redo all your engine/tranny grounds with bigger wire and clean bolting surfaces off to bare metal. Also, check your main harness ground on the thermostat housing.

 

i'll be checkin it out.

is a dseries alt. the same as a b?


edit:
started the car up, took of the (-) terminal and the car died. that would mean the alt. correct? check the ground on the alt and the "O" for the ground was corroded(sp?) and broken off. i'll try to fix that and see wussup.
