and ur gonna have to get a new one pressed in i think, that or find some way to press it in. i dunno if thats safe tho
jus search it these are often problems in civics im sure theres plenty of info

says you car hammer it in, if you realli dont want to rent the tool or dont have the cash
but its not gauranteed i would do it right the first time if you have the chance

definately do this first. find out what the thread is and get a die. re thread it. go to the honda dealer and get another nut. they will probably have to order it but you can use a regular nut for the time being. the threads dont look TOO bad.

If you can try to rethread it but I think you should just go ahead and replace it. And yes you can do it without having to press it in and out. Let me see if I can find you that thread......btw search is your friend...here's one of the many thread about your situation....

ok well i just got done doing lower ball joint, an new cv axle both on passengers side... now that infamous knocking noise that was occuring everytime i let off the gas while driving before i did the job is even LOUDER..!!! im stumped.... new axles, tie rods, ball joints, rotors, brakes, an tires balanced an it still every time i let off the gas while im driving goes KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK, than when i start back on the gas it goes away..... im starting to think crazy here, maybe where the cv goes into the tranny, the gears are messed up...??? could it be shocks...?? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Also to add, i've got the car jacked up on jackstands right now an when i accelerate then decel there is no noise, but since i dont have LSD i dont think both wheels should spin when i hit the gas cuz the passenger one doesnt, but when i free spin it with my hands i can kinda hear a faint knocking/rubbing noise... im so stumped man this sucks....
