I was considering on looking into getting a Performance Chip for a 98 Non-Vtec GS model...first of all where is a good place to get them and what kind...most of all are they even worth it?


Also, is anyone familiar with or have personal experience with the Venom 400 ECU upgrade/add-on module...just looking for some feedback and opinions.

I don't think they'd make enough of a difference to notice,
First off mostly, if it adds more fuel or w/e, it won't do much, since it's still a stock engine.

 

and if you rev past 7 grand on your stock LS motor, your most likely gonna float a valve, and it's bad for your crank. and your cylinder walls will start flexiing.

unless you intend to take a speed govern off and screw with ur air/fual ratios and keep your stock limiter

chip as in tuned ECU? that would be worth it, heres and idea, get the basic upgrades, cold air intake, IM, ...ect... then get some larger injectors, and fuel pressure regulator, at this point you will need to get a chipped ecu, and you will notice an actual difference

 

yup.. preprogrammed chips = big waste of money, get a real tune or none at all
