Default MSD 6AL W/2 Step or 3 Step

After last season and not being able to get good launches I'm stepping into a MSD 6al with 2 or 3 step. I just have a couple questions about the unit since I haven't used it before.
I'm also running Hondata S100(no launch control available) but I have my rev limit at 8600rpm's.

1) With use with Hondata for my high RPM rev limiter can I just not put a pill in the MSD box for the high rev limit or will it just use the highest one it has?

2) Also do you think I will ever have any need for a 3 step as apposed to a 2 step such as 1 for burnout and one for launch or different settings for street tires and for slicks? It's only $10 more for the 3 step.

Any input from people using this or a similar setup would be very appreciated.

I'm looking to build as much boost as possible off the line.

Here's my setup if it helps:
Turbo b16a w/b16a tranny
400whp at 18psi
electronic dual stage boost controller 12psi & 18psi
24.5x13 slicks

I have the 6al w a 2step and i which i bought a 3step cause it wired it for my ebrake and it suck trying to do a burnout with a 5k rev limiter . Just save your self the hassle and get the 3step one time.

i have the 3 step but only use one of them...i have no trouble doing a burn-out on my launch limiter...I use the hondata revlimiter as the over all...and then the 3step as the launch limit, and its right off my e-brake...

24.5's and 22's last year, burnouts on the limiter and( depending on track) launching both sets between 6K-6500 w/ only 3psi built.

This year I'm switching to MSD6al+ 3step. What kind of boost are you guys building w/ the MSD on the line?

i was doing my burn outs like i said, on my launch limiter with a 6500rpm pill i n it. I was building about 5-7 lbs of boost...but me and david found a way to make the msd build boost so i should be leaving under full boost.

I met a kid last year at the track that was building 9lbs at 6K off the line. he was only running 12lbs full boost.

Care to share how you get the MSD to build full boost of the line?

Retard Box?^^

I learned how to make Uberdata build full boost but, I can't make it work during burnouts so, I'm making the switch to MSD.

nope no retard box...its all in the hondata...its really easy if you sit down and think about it....building boost on aem is the simplest thing to do...they have options you can put like take timing out..add fuel and all that so its easy to make it build boost....oh...i was also doing second gear burn outs last season.

You're doing the same thing in Hondata that I do in UD.

Oh alright you're just retarding the **** out of the timing like in the AEM Anti-lag feature.
