how can i get a real raspy sound out of my single cam?
i ve been wondering how to get a raspy exhaust sound do i need to buy one of those small mufflers or change the piping?
lately ive seen some cars with small diameter exhaust and they have a nice loud raspy sound what type of mufflers are those?
modify some dual 5" semi truck exhaust to it. that should take care of it.
make sure you run it up the side of the car like they they do for a more gangsta look

Personally I like the least amount of sound possible from an aftermarket exhaust, however if I had to chose between a loud, low tone fart can exhaust and a higher pitch sound I would chose the higher pitch. Sounds like **** outside the car but inside the car it`s not that bad. Run a test pipe instead of your catalyser and a cheap oval exhaust.
however, intake sounds > exhaust sounds
however, intake sounds > exhaust sounds
my car had it it , my setup was just a straight through ss 2.5 in with a normal looking muffler that was gutted . not cat or resonators will do the trick for ya.
notice i said was not like this now i threw that together so i could drive

The exhaust sound from inside my car is pretty quiet. But outside, it sounds like the most nasty-*** weed-eater ever. VERY VERY raspy with very little deepness or drone. Seriously, I would win the award for most annoying sounding exhaust on honda-tech. I've thought about recording it and uplaoding an mp3 of it because it is so impressive how raspy it sounds.
here is my setup:
4 to 1 header
no cat
no resonators
mandrel bent 2.25 piping
BIG cheap OE style oval muffler
the muffler takes away the deepness, but lets through the rasp. This accentuates the rasp because there is nothing else to compete with it... you get to hear nothing but giant weed-eater.
awesome.

I had the loudest exhaust ever on my old 93' Si with a H22A swap. It was a DC header to test pipe to a custom crushbend 2.5" b-pipe out to a 5-ziggen fireball axleback.
It was so horribly loud and raspy. Donny up at ISA said it was the loudest civic he had ever had on the dyno. (compliment? lol) It was cool because the car was farely fast so if I did race someone on the freeway or whatever they had to listen to my horrible sounding car as I passed them.
I also got booted off of PIR during the night drags because I exceeded the decible level for the track.
I liked how horribly loud it was only because the car was fast, if I had had a stock motor I probably would have thrown a pre-muffler in the middle of the b-pipe.
