charcoal canister removal.....

Default charcoal canister removal.....

just finish putting a b16a2 into an ej1 and wondering if anyone here is still running the charcoal canister. emission is no problem in texas. how did you guys bypass this? thanks

the charcoal canister isnt really for emissions, do you know what it does?

hmm..thought it was "part" of the emission. so anyone bypass it before?

when your car gets hot...and its got a full tank of gas, some of it turns to vapors, those vapors go through a hose to the charcoal canister. Why get rid of it? Theres no performance loss, its not like the LX exhaust, choking your car of power.

because that whole evap system is a pain in the *** once 1 part goes bad like mine did, that is why i'm looking for a usdm manual p30 so i can get rid of that there system

actuallly you cant pass emissions if you dont have the charcoal canister...well when your barring a car with a different motor...or so ive been told...

remove the can, cap off the intake manifold, and cut the line for the vent (that ran to the can) back at hte gas tank so u dont smell the fumes. everythings done on my car... just gotta cut the line in a few mins when i get my car up on the lift.
