Im thinking of taking it off, what is it for?

EVAP canister captures gas fumes i think. You're in california. i think taking it off wouldn't be a good idea.

well function wise is it fine to take off? I'm not worrying if it smog legal or not.

If your not in Cali then it is just another spare part on the car. Take it off. There are a few lines that run to under the car and you can trace lines for more emmissions crap back to the gas tank where there is a 2 way valve back there too. You can remove all them and it wont affect the drivablility at all.

if you take it off, i guess you dont need the Purge Cut Solenoid Valve on the intake manifold. Maybe you can just replace that with a 1/2 or 1 watt resistor.

The vaccum line running from the canister to the intake manifold, can you tap in a boost guage there? Thanks
