im using the jdm ecu that came with the motor. its a 95 h22 vtec motor if it helps. so its an odb 1 motor in an obd 2 car. to adapt the wiring harness of the car to the ecu , HASPORT made me such a harness.

im also throwing CODE 22 along with the 36. (vtec pressure). thats really not a big problem to me cause we know what that is and we can take care of it. but this CODE 36 is killing us, also the car is running like **** ,blowing smoke(black), and it idles too low. maybe when we change spark plugs and check grounds again something might change.

but heres the kicker, when we first put the motor in with no exhaust on it, it ran fine, idled fine and everything. this is with no O2 sensor pluged in. when we had the exhaust put on, it wouldn't idle and it strated to misfire.

os if u have any suggestions or info on these problems,i would appriciate it alot.

thanx

code 36 is: TCFC signal, for the Traction Control System (TCS) does your ecu have four gray plugs? I have the same code on my ecu but is a soft code, only when your short the service check connector. my car runs fine with no problems of any sorth.

there is no code 36 for a jdm ecu, are you sure your reading the correct number of flashes? 3 slow and 6 fast ? I have the helms right in front of me, what could make you run like crap doh is the MAP sensor or not having the O2 sensor in, either one of those will screw you over.. if anything did you switch pin a6 and a11 on the ecu harness?

but the helms you're reading is only for USDM cars only!!! not for JDM.... which some jdm preludes came with the TCS, just the same way Accord's V6 come with option of TCS.

actually. the code 36 is a soft code from the jdm p13. look on your ecu. if you are throwing this code your ecu says 4ws. like i said it is a soft code it will not trip the cel unless you have a "major" code to go along with it. i believe it is a 4ws code and not a tcs.. but who knows. all you need to know is that it's on the jdm 4ws ecu and it's not major.

if you are referring to code 36....the only way to get rid of it is get a different ecu since its not a "problem" that causes nay issues except for extra flashes when you check the codes.

I haven't seen this question in a long time. Months ago i answered this like 5 times a day. as everyone said before. if you have the 4 plug JDM p13 you will get a ghost code 36, but it does not effect drive ability of the vehicle.

CODE 22 IS GOING TO BE YOUR VARIABLE VALVE TIMING & VTECH PRESSURE SWITCH BASICALLY U NEE TO SET THE TIMING ON YOUR CAM GEARS AND TIMING ON DISTRIBUTOR AND MAYBE HAVE TO BUY NEW V-TECH PRESSURE SWITCH

AND THE REASON YOUR SPEED DONT WORK IS BECAUSE CODE 17 IS YOUR VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR NEED TO REPLACE IT
