You really don't need crome pro. You just need a good wideband lambda, for datalogging on your laptop. You need the rpm, a/f and map signal. When a/f is to low, let the injection time in your crome map increase. for that rpm, and map value. Your datalog program has nothing to do with crome. Datalogging is for reading your a/f, and then with crome you correct it.
When corrected you have to program a new chip, start the engine, en datalog again, and see if your a/f is getting better. Repeat this till your a/f is right. This is all possible with crome free. You even can use rtp (real time programming) with crome free. Then you'll use a romulator, whitch connects your pc with your ecu, so you don't need to program a new eprom every time.
Crome pro has a datalog function, so datalogging is in crome, and crome wil autocorrect your a/f, by reading map, a/f and rpm. That goes a lot faster, but it isn't necessary. Good luck!

There are more than 1 demo and what not. It still shows you what is going on.
