Yeah theres a thread on here that shows how to fix it, im sure you will find it if you search. But I did it and it still leaks a little, nowhere close to as much as before though. Almost all of the 96-00 hatches do it.

Mine does, I have done everything to try to fit it. From replacing the gaskets for the spoiler and tail lights to putting liquid gasket on both of them. I still cant find where the leak is.

hey man me and my buddy just went through the same thing in our eg hatchs what it ended up being is the rear seal that the hatch glass rests on. I took my seal off and cleaned it really good and used black silicone and put it around the lip the seal goes on then i slid the rubber seal back on and let the silicone dry . completely fixd both of our problems and im sure it will yours to. Good luck man and let me no if this works.
check the seal between the tallights and the body. get new ones if theyre not that great, and make sure taillights are tight against the body. that prevents the gaskets acting as a sponge/passageway for water. also, the way its designed, water is sent right up into there by the rear tires and it totally sucks. im planning on getting mudflaps and or sealing it up under there so that water doesnt make it that high up.
gaskets between tailights. but dont use stock ones. If you do stack 2 gaskets together for each of them.
Just cut out some memory foam and put it w/ your current gasket
