Default EK hatch, water in trunk area.....need help!

So I discovered water in the trunk area where the spare tire is this morning. What are the common areas I need to check for water leakage?

More likely it's from you washing your car. Make sure the rear hatch trunk is seating properly when closed. It could be leaking from the part where your taillamps and trunk meet. You tail lamps might need to be tightened down and make sure they have the weather strips. Make sure all of your seals and strips are torn or worned out.

check the foamy gasket thing between the taillights and the body of the car. Mine got old and started to leak from there.

Had the same problem its you taillight gaskets. it also might be that the tail light is loose. when i changed my i didnt even need a wrench to take my taillights out. just buy some foam board at walmart .39$ each (i used 2 fo each side) and trace out your old gasket and then just tighten up your bolts and you should be good to go.

yup, same exact problem with mine... take out your taillights and get new gaskets, also make sure they're tight, (not too hard those studs arent strong)

Also, when i took out my taillights to see what the hell the problem was, i noticed that the way the fenderwell is designed, the rear tires shoot water right up into the taillight area. clean all the dirt and **** out of that area so it doesnt rust. I'm getting mudflaps for preventative maintenance ::
