oil usage question
did a search on here and couldnt find anything..
i heard this engine burns oil pretty fast, this weekend i drove about 300 miles (1 1/2 hours each way) i started out good on oil, about half way back home, i noticed i was pretty low on it.. i was driving around 80-90mph the whole time (regular traffic speed out here).. just wondering is that common oil usage. and if theres anything to "help" it

So back off you sick maniac!
Must be something wrong with the search.

There is nothing wrong with it. They are just working to upgrade it and at the moment it doesn't easily search deep archives. To do that you'd need to use a specific users name for a post you remember.
I'm told that it will be fixed soon.

Yeah, but not as much as you think.
After 3 hours on the track, I think I burned around 1-1.5 quarts.
So just hitting vtec a lot on the street I dont think would make much of a difference.

Yes, burning oil is common in the ITR. On public roads, it can be one quart every 1-3K miles; some engines don't burn any. On the racetrack, it can be one quart every 100-200 track miles.
If you're saying that you were down by a quart after 150 miles, that sounds like an unusually high amount. If you're saying that you were down by half a quart after 450 miles, that's not so unusual.

i read this here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=748910 but wasnt quite sure
if you use a oil pressure gauge, will it tell you if the oil is alittle low, or will it tell you if its very low/almost gone?

You won't see much difference in oil level from a pressure gauge.
Just get out, pop the hood, and check the oil every time you get gas.
