S2k using oil?
Did a search, but didn't find anything..
I filled my S2k up with oil about a week ago. let the engine cool down for half an hour, then filled it up to the "H" mark.
Today, I checked the oil again, and the oil level has gone down two marks on one side of the measuring pin, but on the other side of it the oil level seems fine? This time the car was cold, been sitting in the garage since yesterday. Car has done aprox 50000 miles
Help?

My 05 doesn't burn any... not even half a hash mark. Might wanna check it out.

Not uncommon. Some use more than others, but early cars frequently use more than later years. Part of the F20/22 engine design is to squirt oil on the cylinder walls, which leads to more oil use than other engines.
Properly checking oil level is done when the car is hot, just after you turn it off.
Checking it a half hour later, or when the car is cold, will not give proper levels.

Actually, to get the 'proper' reading for oil level, wait a little while after the car is run, ten minutes or longer should be enough, unless you're at a track day, then wait longer, the oil will expand a great deal (the level rises a quart in my race car when I am racing). If you don't wait, the oil will still be draining from the head and still be hot, therefore expanded, it doesnt take long for the oil to drain out of the head, but it's always best to check it in the mornings, before you drive it, when it's ice cold the actual level is more accurate then.
i have an 03 and it burns absolutely no oil at all. my uncle has the same car and his doesnt either. Maybe just be a little easier on it? i aint no old lady but i understand you cant beat on something constantly and have it run forever.
shocking, i know.

I beat on mine repeatedly and it burns no oil. It depends on how you break in your motor.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
My year 2000 burns about 1/4 quart per oil change interval. So it burns a negligible amount of oil...even after a 2 day road america abuse fest last fall.
. But its pretty common for high revving motors (especially honda) to consume oil. The piston squirters probably do cause more oil consumption than usual motors, though. My SR20DET used to burn about the same amount....as well as my B16 (although i dont know if the oil squirters were only reserved for B18s in the B series family). I think i've just been lucky with typically high oil consumption motors that burn no oil in my hands even if i beat on the car a lot. I guess God must like me
