engine revs up what is the problem

i drive down the road get ready to slow down. i push the clutch in and the car drops rpm's then increases a little. i mean it goes for say 3000rpm's to idle then to 1500rpm's when i push the clutch in would that be a fast idle control sensor dirty??? that could it be help????

try cleaning the fast idle thermo valve on the bottom of the throttle body, and then clean the IAC

is that what it sounds like it could be the car has 79,000 miles.thanks for the help

Check the idle speed control valve..
And when the RPM goes up and down is that if u just hold that clutch in and leave your feet off anything else but the clutch?
