Default cel code 7 Throttle position sensor...does it affect VTEC at all????!?!!?

i need to know if a cel code 7 will affect vtec in anyway?
perhaps not let it kick in at all? or make the car lag in performance...

please anyone with first hand experience help me.

i need a definate answer.

i dont think vtec is kicking in and the only codes i have are a 1 (primary o2), and 7 (TPS).

ive already confirmed that a code 1 wont prevent vtec from activating.

any input please!

Fix the TPS and find out.

While I dont know for sure, I am going to say it should not affect vtec. You need a speed signal, coolant temp signal, oil psi signal, and rpm signal for vtec to engage. The tps does not deal with either of those.

its 4 in the morning so i cant go fix it right now to find out.

im asking becuase i neglected that code thinking it wouldnt effect vtec....but now that i have tried everything else since that is the only major code my motor is throwing im trying to link it to that.
i dont see why else it wouldnt be engaging

I know the AEM EMS uses Coolant Temp, Load, RPM, TPS, and VSS, as parameters for VTEC. The stock ecu should use all these parameters also, so yes without TPS you're also without VTEC.
