Turbo or Surpercharger
I would like to buy an s2000 in like a year after i grow out of my hatch phase. Although i will be slower with the s2000, i'm interested in hearing the results you guys have had from both setups. I would like to have a good street car, no autoX but the occasional drag strip appearances.
Also what type of weight reduction would you guys recomend. I think the power top and accs. are heavy i would remove that in favor of a carbon fiber top. I dont like convertables anyways so this is not a problem for me. What do you guys think?

HAHA S2000 losing... "in shock" yea theres faster cars out there stock wise that are faster but for 60hp per liter and for a 4cyl. and only 240hp, its pretty damn fast. You have to look at the power to weight ratio man, and if it close when two cars are racing its all about the driver and the shifting, anyone knows that! You cant critisize a car due to a lame driver with poor potential of shifting at the precise time.

60hp per liter huh? 60x2.0 = 120..
s2000's are really slow from the factory, there is no denying that.

There is no way Superchargers are faster overall...
They simply do not have the TQ of the turbo, and even with turbo lag, the SC doesnt see power until high rpms.
The superchargers are safer, but I prefer the turbo.
Check out http://www.LOVEFAB.com for the best S2000 turbo kit IMO.
Even on auto-x, the Turbo will outperform the S2. With revs staying over 4-5k, the turbo will be in boost the entire time, and will be spooled with the slightest throttle tap. An SC's power is dependent on the rpm.
Oh, and the cheapest CF tops are $3,000 for Seibon or C-Wings. You can get an OEM top for $2700 brand new, which is 14 lbs heavier. The OEM top is 44 lbs, and the softop with motors about 60lbs. Just food for thought.
Good luck! :D
