S2k TQ!!

hey guys, i have been told that hte s2k under around 6k's feels like a b16 motor because it doesn't have that much tq. my question is that if i were to turbo the S, would it spool up and jsut go from about 2-3k's rpm or would it lag and then spool up around the 6ks meaning that i would still ahve about the same amount of tq below 6k's? how can i make it acc. faster from 1-6k's. would the turbo help in that range or just a little bit. hope you guys understand waht i am trying to say.
Yes, actually a Turbo has been the best way to add power down low on the S2000 so far. While there are SC kits out that run very reliable and trouble free they still don't make full boost until after 6000 rpm. Resulting in a sluggish bottom end just like stock. Where as a few Turbo kits out such as Ultimate Racing have been proven to make full boost as low as 3000 rpm. Resulting in way better acceleration and more power/TQ down low. Although, there has yet to be a problem free reliable Turbo kit produced for the S2000. Problems arise with tuning and the "crap" piggyback units that come with the kits. If I were to Turbo my S2000, I'd be sure to buy full engine management such as the AEM EMS to insure a properly tuned and reliable car.
i dont know about that....the s2k def doesnt feel like a b16....turbo would help but i think it will have the crazt lag until its fully spooled...turbo is gonna be hella expensive too with th correct dyno tunning...have fun..if u have any extra doe..feel free to send some my way
depends on the size of the turbo used, if its a smaller sized one it would definately be fully spooled up by 3k rpm. turbo lag on most turbo kits(UR, speedcraft, etc) isn't that bad. its only the custom turbo kits equipped with massive turbos that have turbo lag problems.
Bs2kB6 I think a full t4 is too big a turbo for the S then again I don't have experience using one. The speed-craft kit uses a full t4 60-1. I'm using a t3/t4 with a t04e compressor housing. I have a .82 ar on the turbine side for more flow. Mine begins to spool early late 3k early 4k and is fully spool late 4k early 5k. It spools quickly. Honestly you could try a full ball bearing turbo like a balistic series turbo but for the money (double the price) i didn't see an advantage. With proper sizing of the downpipe and exhaust, I believe the t3/t4 hybrid is a very good turbo application for the s2k.
At 300whp I think is the limit for useable power, otherwise its the tires, clutch, then diff that gives way, almost in that order
