are you trying to take it off? Or putting a stock spring back on?

do you have a air compressor and an impact gun?

if you do, just step on the cap thing at the top of the spring, and shoot the nut off, the bottom part will go flying across your neighbors yard, cool, then if your shocks arent blown to ****, get a friend of yours to help you, with a little effort, he can push the spring down just enuf for you to get the nut back on there

you only need to worry about using a spring compressor for the front springs. the rear springs are so little preloaded, it will be completely safe to just unfasten the top nut and let the spring come up a bit.

as for the front spring, i understand the issue you have with fitting the compressor claws in between the coils. what i usually do is remove the claw from the threaded bar, and pry the coils apart and make them wedged in between the 4-6 coils from the bottom. then you can thread the bar into it, and then clamp the bottom of the spring perch on the shock. same on the other side. this will allow you to compress the stock spring just enought to safely disassemble the whole shock.

good luck.

GHETTO TIP HERE

Point the top hat towards a solid wall, and put your foot firmly on bottom of the shock. Keep your hands away from the top hat.

Use a small wrench to loosen the top nut until the top has pops off.
