Help! Wheel fell off!!
well i did a search for this and didn't find anything. it might be here, if so direct me there and i apologize. i have changed wheels several times before, and never had this happen. i have a 93 del sol si with 16 inch konig holes rims. i just put some new tires on and my front left wheel fell off while driving... the rim was damaged some, on the inside. i replaced the rotor and studs as some were stripped and tried again. the wheel fell off again when i was testing it out . it is slowly starting to "wobble" and push the nuts off stripping the studs.. i believe this may be caused by the wheel not sitting perfectly flush against the rotor, but i filed it down and it looks like it is flush. i was wondering before i sell my wheels if there is anything else that might cause this problem, like the axle or something else? i have never heard of this happening before so any ideas would be appreciated. thanks
Look at the surface of the lug nut that comes in contact with the wheel. Some are round, some are tapered, some are flat (very few), etc. If you use a different style than what the wheel manufacturer recommends the lugs won't stay tight.
I've never seen bent wheels come off the car...

that might be the solution.. i had tuner lugs and lost one and so i had put one regular lug on there.. but it was still really tight. you think if i get all the tuner lugs that came with the wheels back on it will be fine?
