Default no opinions plz, only experience. 92 eg brake kit or blanks (give this thread a chance)

Ok, I know this question has been beaten to death........B U T ........... the problem Im getting with the search feature is that a lot of the input to old or archived threads comes from 2nd or 3rd party OPINIONS,... not factual experience. It seems like most of the replys start like...."I heard that" or "I think if you were to". I would like to know (from expirience only plz) what kind of brake setup to run on my 92 si. If you know the car, it came with the crappiest brakes Honda has ever put on a car.. I forgot the diameter of the rotors but they are the same size as the dx ones. Ive been killin these rotors now hardcore for the past few months and its waaaay past time to upgrade. I dont want to spend aver a few hunderd bucks on the upgrade either. Im PROBABLY not gonna be autocrossing (but I might) but I want to be able to stop just as fast with the same pedal feel as an autocross car. I know Im not gonna get THE BEST performance with only spending that amount of $ but I think that I can get a substantial increase in stopping power if the part selection is right.
From the research Ive done on Honda-Tech, Ive gathered that there are three ways in which MOST of the guys on here go about doing this. One is to just upgrade the pads and get blank rotors,.. some of these types of drivers (on a strict budget) will take it a step farther and upgrade the lines as well. Second is to do an upgraded kit from oem parts off a car with better brakes,....like going to type-r's or something (and new pads). Last is to spend a hunk of money on a big brake kit and be done with the whole ordeal.
Im not gonna lie and try to sound like an experienced tuner because Im not,.. not at all. Ive been turning wrenches on dirtbikes and quads foe several years but Ive also been learning a lot (mostly in the past year) from HT and others around me about this type of thing and Ive come to the conclusion that you cant trust what people say theyve "heard" (myths).
With all that said I am gonna ask that the guys who have done brake upgrades to please list: Their car, what upgrade they done, and what they like or dislike about the performance of the upgrades. This probably sounds like the old cliche "you want champagne taste on a beer budget" and in part I guess its true but I know that if you guys help me I can get the stopping power Im looking for for the amount of money I want to invest. If youve got a suggestion (from experience only plz) about an upgrade that costs slightly more than a few hundred dollars, please post. I could probably be pursuaded to spend A LITTLE more if I KNOW that the results will be worth it.
Im trying not to sound to demanding so please no flaming. I will be greatly appreciative of all the input you have to offer. sorry about the novel

a very minimum upgrade would be good pads, good fluid and new blank rotors.that will give you more than enough power than you can use on the street.
Autozone blank rotors(around $10 each),Valvoline Synpower fluid(around $5 for a big bottle)and good pads.two i've had good experience with are Axxis Ultimates(around $60 a set for fronts)and Carbotech Panther Plus(around $100 for the front set).
for the rear, some blank rotors and maybe a slightly less agressive pad(Axxis Metal Master or Carbotech Bobcats for instance)will be fine.
that setup would will give you plenty of power for street and autocross use.you'll have enough power to lock the brakes on street tires at speeds well above what you shoud be driving at on the street.

you could upgrade to the 10.3" brakes, with the same pads, fluid and rotors listed above, but that'd cost a few hundred bucks more, but the slight increase in stopping power and thermal capacity really isn't needed for street use.

I appreciate the punctuall response. Please dont think that Im a maniac driver,... Im not, however me and a few of my friends have found a really curvy road out in the middle of nowhere (9 curves in 1 1/2 miles.... a few 90degree turns as well as a few s curves...fun, fun, fun)that we go to that only has one entrance and one exit with NO inlet roads or driveways leading in. What we have been doing is go out there and have one person park on one end of the road, & one person on the other while the third goes through the road, all with 2 way radios to warn of any impending dangers(cars, cops, etc...). Its been a blast and thats the reason why I wanna do this now. For the most part you stay below about 55mph but there is one straitaway that you can, well I can reach 130mph on (turbo...he he) before slowing for a gradual turn that leads into a shiquane (<sp??). Ive been heating these little rotors up too much for my liking and Ive been getting too much fade for comfort.....................ok....... with that said: Will this upgrade you are suggesting be able to handle that? Where can I purchase the pads and fluid from?? What about the brake lines....do they REALLY make that much of a difference?

Hey man, I have a 92 eg as well. My brake setup currently consists of GSR brakes with stainless lines 460 motul? (been a minute since i looked at that bottle) and hawk hps pads with factory blanks from auto zone and I couldnt be happier. I might upgrade to a 1" MC over the 15/16" but thats about it. I dont think I will need more brakes than that unless some very major power is delivered and I have a highly modded NA b-series now. So take that for what its worth. Your current setup and future setups might require diff. brakes so dont forget to factor that in.

DC Integra brakes (any model) with decent pads (my personal preference would be Cobalt GT-Sports, but there are others that do the job just as well) and fresh blank rotors. You shouldn't be boiling your fluid on the street, so if you are, cut it out. That setup will be more great for street and occasional autox use. Hell, you could even use just the Integra front brakes, as your Si already has rear discs.

Any info gained here is going to be a repeat performance of those old threads.

Last I checked, this was a rr/ax/hpde forum.... not a "street pefrormance y0!!1!1!" forum.
