brakes seem to lock up very easy these past few months. 92 civic
car- 92 civic hatch
brakes- stock front discs and rear drums..autozone ceramic brake pads.
ive had my car for three years and not until this winter had i noticed that my brakes will lock up insanely fast...i have to drive like a granny in the rain and even when the roads are dry it doesnt take much for me to start skidding/sliding..in the rain especially i notice when i do start sliding my car starts sliding to the right. I do have autozone brake pads but theyre the ceramic ones...i hear they arent that good but even when i first got them my braking wasnt horrible until these past few months.
I dont know where to start...i would rather not spend money on pads if i dont need them because mine are hardly a year old so i dont think that would be a major issue..the rotors are also as new as the pads. Maybe my calipers are starting to get sticky? i just dont feel safe driving my car with such a horrible stopping distance. if i have to suddenly brake a bit hard i always have to pump my brakes so they dont lock up.
any ideas?
thanks

Oddly enough, check the rears, I bet that you've got little to nothing left back there. Worn out rear brake shoes were the sourse of a similar problem I had. Shortly after installing new pad/rotors (Autozone) the car had front brake lock up isues like you describe.
New rear shoes took care of the front lock up problem.
