I have a 93 dx hatch and am currently in the process of swapping in a h22. I've finished my suspension and am now in the process of upgrading my brakes . I need to know if simply upgrading the rotors,pad and lines , would be good enough ,or is it a waste of time and $$$.......or should I just go with a big brake kit ? I'm trying to build my car right the first time . I drive my cars hard and plan to get into road racing . I just wanted to hear from people that have been there and done that . looking for some good advise that will help me out in my project.

Ya, I would suggest getting AEM or Fastbrakes brake upgrade. I'm actually going the ITR 5 lug route for brake upgrades and such, but fastbrakes would be a nice upgrade.

With my old 92 CX, I had EX front brakes/knuckles on it and I'd use semi-metallic pads and stock replacement rotors. After a month or so of hard driving, the pads would still be cool but they'd eat up the rotors and would wear them down so much that they'd cause a nice lip on the outer edge, but the brakes felt decent.

You can get bigger brakes up front and it'll help, but the thing that'll help out more so would be the master cylinder and brake booster.... upgrade those and you'll be allowing more pressure to your pads and that'll help increase the stopping power on your car.

I'm actually also running EX fron brakes/control arms, sway bar and brakes nicely. I just need to re-bleed it.

Yeah it looks like the best way to go , is to simply drop some $$$ on a good kit like wilwood . Many people have used setups like this with good experinces. I've done a good amount of research and looked into upgrading the m/c .

well my stock dx brakes arent really that bad...yet. I would definetly get the fastbrakes or at least GSR's all the way around. I'm somewhat surprise that my stocker have held up pretty good but then again I dont really do any kind of crazy driving other than drag racing. hth

I wanna upgrade mine soon as well. So if any of you guys know of anyone seling MC/Booster/Prop Valve then let me know.. I will probably go with the Fastbrakes kit since I have GSR rears already and the DSS axles up front..
