what's the most boost a b20 can take?
without having to resleeve the motor, is it okay to boost the motor? let's just say 4-6 lbs max. i already know that it's suggested that it's sleeved but just getting an idea. thanks.
b20 cylinder walls are very thin(not strong) as is. im sure 4-6lbs would be fine, depending on the size of the turbo. What turbo are you running?
well my buddy just gave me a kit for a single cam with a t28... it's really small. but yeah, just thinking about using it but don't want to spend a couple Gs for it.
Why the *** would you even want to boost 4-6psi with a tiny *** turbo? That's just stupid. Stop being a fukin ***** and boost a minimum of 10-12psi with a t3/t4. It will last for a little while, then you can sleeve your block.

A properly sized turbo should go a long way towards making this combo worth doing --- a straight t3 .42. 48 will be a waste of a good B20 lol
Its all in the tuning --- I think 8psi should be fine with a good tune and a nice size turbo

i'm just seeing what my options would be if i did want to go turbo. i'd rather think about buying a house than going 300whp that i'll never use...

i have a turbo b20 and on my first turbo i was running 14lbs of boost daily. on my new turbo i am runing 11lbs daily. it is all in the tuning. crappy tune crappy turn-out. oh the trim on my turbo's were 1)50/48 2)60/63

well i was gonna post something helpful, but it looks like your an ***. do a search. i found all the info i needed doing a search on turbo'ing a b20. and jeeze, a t28 is friggen small. so your saying your car is worth less than 700? turbo's dont cost thousands of dollars

considering in order to resleeve the motor would cost atleast $1500, then to buy a whole new turbo kit would be another $1500..
as for $700? highly doubt that you'll find a decent kit for that price..unless you're talking about e-bay.

hey stupid ****, i was talking about a turbo. just go ahead and hook up that t28 and get back to us. its been said that you dont have to resleeve. just get a good tune. so your saying your car is worth less than 3000 then?
If you would have bothered to search at all you would have found what you needed yourself. 5psi will be fine, but what's the point? It's a big waste of time and money because your car will still be slow. I'm sure you will want more power and the b20's just can't handle a decent amount of boost for very long. Some people get lucky and never have problems, but most people will end up with a cracked sleeve. A good tune will help, but it's not going to change the design of the sleeves, and that is the reason they crack. If you just want to turbo your car for fun then go for it and stop asking questions.

i was saying you can turbocharge it withourt resleeving it. i never said how long it would last. i was just saying a good tune is very important. and yes my ride is on blocks because its stripped getting a full build. id like for it not to rust out completely.
crtvecs run easy 12s with t28s. that's in the neighborhood of 230whp (dynojet). not slow... nor opinionated.

and b20 sleeves are not thin, they are actually thicker then all other bseries. 8mm vs 7mm
