B20/B18 Turbo
I was wondering if an B20 w/ B18C1 Head Hybrid can be safely turbocharged without any problems, if so can I use a Turbo kit (Greddy, Turbonetics), or is it a better/ safer idea to take it to a shop for a custom turbo kit setup?

Re: B20/B18 Turbo (CACIV)
Those kits would be perfectly fine, keep boost under 12psi and you should be fine. Just a suggestion, if you want to get a kit, get the Drag 3 with the T3/T04E. Tune it correctly, it's no joke...

Re: B20/B18 Turbo (CACIV)
if you have a b20b it'll prolly take more abuse due to lower compression. my old b20b went threw 2 years of a 75 & 100 shot of nitrous and 7 months of 10psi on a POS fmu/safc setup.
a friend of mine is running a 150shot on a stock sleeved built CRvtec w/ 11:1 compression. no problems yet (hondata tuned).
Just keep an eye on it and make sure you play it safe on how much fuel and timing you use. Dont worry about the sleeves until they actualy give you a problem.

Re: (Boosted Power)
It will be fine? Ask all the people that have cracked B20 sleeves (the people that know that they are doing). Good tuning won't change the design of the sleeves, that is why they crack. B20 sleeves are not like other b-series sleeves. Tuning will only get you so far, some people have had good luck, others haven't had good luck. I would rather not risk it, but that's me.

Whoever said that he was going to be pushing a B20 boosted to its limits. Yes, the sleeves run the risk of cracking because of it being thinner then other b-series. Doesn't mean everyone who is going to turbocharge there b20 is going to push it to its limits.
I have lots of buddies who run b20 stock block with boost or nitrous and never had a problem. It's when you start pushing the motor beyond its limits that you start to break things.
I have respect for you, cause you're pretty well known for your 230whp on your stock d16z6.
I love that.

Re: (Boosted Power)
Well what do you consider pushing the limits? If I had a stock b-series motor, won't ever happen, but if I did I would expect at least 300whp. I am guessing the majority of people with boosted b-series motors would like at least that much power as well. I don't think that's pushing the limits on any b-series motor, except a b20 block. Is the extra .2 displacement really worth it? I don't think it is, because it's too easy to just turn the boost up with an LS, b16, b18c, etc... to make up for the displacement.
I dunno, I just think he would be better off with a different block, incase he decides to build his motor in the future. Planning for upgrades right now will save you a lot of money in the long run.
Oh and I am pretty suprised my engine hasn't blown up yet, as hard as I rape it lol...

Re: (beerbongskickass)
the only way i would run a b20b block is if it were sleeved. i was gonna do it to my last b20 but got a killer deal on a pre-sleeved ls block. 84.5mm

Hmm that's weird because I could find a few posts on here by golden eagle that say it will cost more to sleeve the B20. I have also seen posts by exospeed that say they charge a few more bucks as well.

Re: B20/B18 Turbo (CACIV)
I have always heard that B20 sleeves are weak and don't like boost, but a buddy of mine used to have a boosted B20/vtec and beat the **** out of it on a daily basis at 16-17 psi . Me personally, I would do ls block, but with a good tuner, B20 is not out of the question .
