vtec, anyways , you have to be more specific than that, what motor ,what ecu, hell what car, did you just do a swap ? vtec will engage if several factors exist, oil press. , temp, throttle position, rpm, . give us some more info on the car....

remember to tell them some is trying to jack you vtec...then tellem you need help soon or its gonna die...

j/k, try to clean out your vtec solenoid (3 screws, and 2 plugs, easy DIY!) Once off wipe everything down and clean out the little mesh filter. I switched mine with a newer, cleaner soleniod and it works alot better. Kicks in just alittle it harder, hence I only have an EJ8. But I can sell you mine for cheap, dealer goes for $200+.

The oil needs to be at a certain level for vtec to work.

Does it not kick in at all, or is it kind of in and out?

He should feel a difference when vtec hits. I certainly do, but many times d-series don't "kick" as hard.

Its because you dont have Vtech Nitro :

Your car's fuzzy logic computer kicks in vtec based on rpm and gear. It could be electrical or mechanical, you should go thru the factory diagnostic in the helms.
