vtec is working fine, no speed from it
i know how my b16 should be driving, and vtec feels almost slower before u hit it. i had my ecu chipped and vtec is at 5,200 but it was runin fine like that for 4 months or so. also i looked at the vtec screen and clean. one thing i was thinkin about replacing was the vtec soliod. but i called honda and they wanted 181.00 so im gonna wait on that. any more ideas please thanks , but no i do not have cams

do you have a cel? hook the solenoid directly to a power source and listen for a click. if you hear it, its working. If no cel, and solenoid is working, I would check oil pressure.

That's what I was thinking....but you say that you have been running like that for 4 months and it just now started doing this? It could be that you screwed something up droping the X over down, but I could be wrong.
First things first, check the oil or do an oil change all together, then clean the screen and silenoid.

He said VTEC is working, you didn't even read the post or the title for that matter.

depending on the problem, vtec can work with a cel. he was talking about buying a new solenoid so I told him how to check if its working. then i told him why it's probably not working. vtec rely's on oil pressure to switch the cams to the more aggresive lobes. all the solenoid does is open a path for the oil to flow. take your own advice there buddy.
