Default Re: wastegate internal or external (tuck'd98)

Internal wastegate is a simpler design, so less piping is involved and you won't have to buy an external wastegate. However, it is much harder to control boost (boost drop, boost spike, fluctuating boost, etc.) than the external one.

With an external wastegate, there is more piping involved. You would also have to buy an exteranl wastegate (which can cost you big $$$ if you want nice ones). You can also make more power with an external wastegate if you run a dumptube setup. Boost control is much better than the internal wastegate.
