question about shift linkage

Default question about shift linkage

i have a 1992 honda civic hatchback and my D15 motor is all locked up...meaning the crank wont move wat so ever....and i have an LS long block wit a B16 tranny.......my question is will i be able to use that shiftlinkage on the B16 if so picture this......i am under the car and i am facing towards the front of the car and the shift linkage......i un bolted the right side of the shift linkage how will i pull out the other linkage

hopefully im following you here.. there should be a pin thats holding the shift linkage to the tranny.... pull that out then unbolt the shift linkage from the car and your golden

you need the b series shift linkage, and to remove the remaining linkage, there is a rubber boot againt your tranny slide that back to remove the spring pin.
do a search on here for bitch pin and you will see how to remove it

there should be a pin on the other side connectiong tothe transmission. you need to find something that will fit in it and boot it out. thats what i did. good luck

take a 8mm punch and beat it out, and you will see why its called a bitch pin.
or leave it in and remove your linkage from the other side(under the shifter) because you cant use it with the b tranny anyways

can i just buy an civic SI shift linkage from Discount Auto Parts?...and use that one?....(sorry im on a budget).....and i really need a runnin car to go to work and start fixin up the EGG.......

it depends what si linkage you want. you just need to get the b serirs linkage.
i think to buy a new set you have to go through the dealer, or try h-t's classifieds

Correct. And the pin is on the end of the linkage that connects to the tranny. Sometimes referred to as the 'bitch pin'.
