Need help on a B16a!!!!!

My friend got a B16a J-spec with no tranny and was wondering if it was a 1st or 2nd generation and what the difference was.

a little more info would help. but i would assume it was a 1 gen

There is a first and a second gen. The first gen is rated at 160hp and is run on a cable type tranny, and the second gen is rated at 170hp and run on a hydro tranny. Hope that helps

but it has no tranny so is there any other difference? its a jspec so is it still rated at a 160hp

just out of curiosity, why did you ask a B16 question in the ITR forum? I think you would find better responses in the hybrid forum, unless you posted there too.
