Default Check Indicator

My check indicator came on. I think my gas cap was loose , so I figured it was as the manuel says. I have driven it like four times after, but the light has not gone off. Anyone else have this problem.

is this the maintenance required light or some other warning light? if it was the main. light, it could just be reminding you that the car is due for a service. if you do all of your own service, as many R owners do, you can reset the light by pushing the button located under the dash, above the drivers right shin.

I'm assuming you mean the check engine light? Follow the steps here and let us know what code it is.

It blinks 9 short times then 1 long time.

you sure? That's a code 19 which doesn't exist to my knowledge.. or is it 9 long and 1 quick? If it is 9 long and 1 short then it's the fuel tank pressure.

Not sure. How long is a long flash?
How long does it take to reset itself, if it is the fuel cap? I am pretty sure the cap was loose when I checked it.

From your IM it sounds like code 9. (9 flashes then a pause then 9 flashes) which is.

9 Cylinder Position Sensor Open or short in CYP circuit, bad CYP sensor

Oh yeah, to reset it pull the radio fuse (or whichever it is) in the engine bay for 30 seconds or so (or disconnect the neg batt term).

If there is something wrong with the sensor, it will go back on , right.
Thanks for all your info.

I unplugged the neg. battery terminal, but the ligh is still on. When you say the fuse in the egine bay, do you mean the 7.5 amp fuse for the radio back up?

I pulled the fuse, and the light has not come back on. If there is a problem, will it trip again?
Thanks for all the help.
