Random starter problems - only clicks

So, ever since I've had my B18C in my CRX, I've had this random problem. I'll turn the key to the start position, and I just get a click. Sometimes, it'll take 10 minutes of me turning the key back and forth from 'ON' to 'START' before it'll finally get what seems to be a good connection, and start up. Other times, it'll go for weeks flawlessly.
I just replaced the starter today with a known good starter off my roommate's LS, and the same problem is happening.
I'm guessing its a ground/wiring issue, but I can't hunt it down. Here are the grounds I've found:
- The negative battery terminal runs to the frame rail just under the battery, and then goes to the tranny.
- Valve cover to frame just above headlight.
- Throttle body to firewall
- Thermostat ground to wiring harness.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? Give me some more things to check. My friends are getting tired of helping me push starting my car
Thanks in advance.

Jumping the Blk/Wht wire on the solenoid terminal to the +pos terminal of the battery cranks the engine.
... time to trace that wire all the way back to the ignition switch.
THis post is turning into a walkthru

well while your tracing the wire from the starter to the ignition you'll come across a main relay (right above the hood release lever, under steering wheel) that probaly has dry/cracked solder points. i would resolder them, or get a new/used one, i think most models use the same one. my car used to do the same thing, which i would push start that thing 9 out of 10 times i went to start it

Main relay was replaced less than 2 months ago with a new one from Honda..
... and the blk/wht wire appears to be fine all the way to the ignition switch.
Checking continuity on the ignition switch now...

I would suggest the ignition switch, same **** happens on my car, but since it still starts up, I am going to wait until it finally takes a crap on me.
While you are at it, you might wanna check out your clutch switch.
EDIT: the reason I suggest the ignition switch is because the same thing happened to me, i replaced my main relay, starter, I knew my grounds were good, good battery terminals and my clutch switch is connected constantly, so the only thing left would be the ignition switch.

Well, I checked out continuity on the ignition switch, and it all seems to be working okay. I think there's a short in the Blk/Wht ignition wire, somewhere between the ignition switch and the starter, but I can't seem to find it anywhere I look!
very aggrivating.

Try running a new wire from the ignition switch to the starter. I had a similar issue, and just ran a new wire and car started up everytime thereafter. BTW, are your battery terminals nice and clean?

Yeah, battery terminals are clean. I just thought about that new wire idea, since it would take me a month to find the break/short in the original wire. I just got my roommate's car put back together to drive down to Home Depot to buy some new wire.
EDIT: Home Depot was closed
Postponed until tomorrow.

Ran a new wire from the Blk/Wht wire just after the fusebox to the starter. No luck.
I guess that leaves the ignition switch? Tell me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I replaced the ignition switch/harness and it did the same thing.
I had this problem on my old d15b2 and I thought I just had a bad starter on both swaps after it happened on my b18c as well.
We had taken my car to a little shop when I had this problem on the d15b2 (didn't know enough about cars to work on them myself at this point in time..) and they wired in a little gold relay box do the starter that when it got a signal from the ignition key, it would jump power directly to the starter.
After I replaced the ignition switch, I was pretty frustrated that nothing seemed to fix it. , so I just yanked that gold box off my old motor that had been sitting at my parents house for the past year, and installed it on my new engine. Started up like a dream.
I'm guessing I still have a wiring problem somewhere, because it seems like the starter is getting a signal from the ignition, but its just not enough power to crank it.
