Default GSR or H22 swap into an EG?!?!

i got a very big and hard decision to make. I have a 95 EG hatch, i need to get a swap done asap, i already have the funds for either one. But im having trouble figuring out which motor to drop in. Whats the Pros and Cons on H22 and B18c1.. and most importantly overall performance and maintanence of these two beasts. thanks appreciate a lot for the help.

Why don't you look at the FAQ at the top of this forum and SEARCH. In 5 plus years of H-T this is probably the 1,500,424,999'th time this has been posted.

i hate to be a search ***, but we had this discussion intensely last week in this thread.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1382735

but that was about weather to do a b18c5 or and H22, and in the end i think the main contributors decided that the BEST would be an H22 with a type-R tranny on an H2B kit which eliminates the need for mounts and axles in the H22 swap.

H cars will always be faster though (dollar for dollar and part for part), there really isnt any way around it.

12.88 @ 106.89 civic VX H22A (H22 tranny no lsd on BFGs)

good luck.

Do the swap right and the H22 will be quicker.

Most people complain about the H22 but never done it themselves or always complain that its slow.
You cant be fast if your axles never make it to the 1320 mark.

if any1 thinks a h22 in a eg wont walk all over a gsr in a gsr they are wrong.....im doing h22 in a eg right now...but like you said, you want something asap, and the gsr is pretty much drop in, unlike the h22 you gotta cut ****

h22 = swap cost less but is a little bit harder.

gsr = easy but expensive.

let me know i have a h22 swap and my cousin got a gsr swap .

btw i got a H22 EH2 and im lovin it. took 2 days to complete the swap because i ran into a little problem. i didnt think it was too hard.

Seems that you shouldn't be asking this question since you have a GSR motor already installed in your car. I CALL BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
