Default Hondata Basemap Questions.

How Did your Hondata Basemap run your car?

Mine at first ran so shitty it would barely run and was smokeing badly and had a check engine light, Found out it was the Stock map sensor, and went ahead and put on my 3bar map sensor.

Now its running much better, but at idle, it still shakes pretty badly, but there is no check engine light.

I know with a basemap your car isnt suppose to run perfect, but I was just wondering if this is normal, or Do I need to look closer?

Im having a bad problem now- the car is falling FLAT on its face.

1000cc injectors, 225HP fuel pump. 3bar map.

If I unplug a vaccum line, Itll stay running... if i plug it back in, Itll either idle extremely low, or die.

Its like its running extremely rich, and thus opening the vaccum line is allowing air in to compensate and itll stay running because of that?

Save yourself headaches and get it tuned.

did you change the map to compensate for the 3-bar sensor? A basemap on 1000cc injectors is probably not going to run well at all so i wouldn't be suprised if its virtually undrivable.

basemaps are educated guesses, and if you don't have the right info its easy to be off. I am running a basemap with 880's right now and it starts up great and runs a tad rich. I used a stock p30 map with 880 scaling to break the motor in, I was around 14 to 1 verified on a dynojet wideband. I will be tuning it soon but to break it in that worked fine.

When i ordered JRSC high boost kit, i got it with suppose to be " tuned" hondata ECU for up to 11psi of boost. When i've installed WBO2 on the car i was shocked how lean it was running. Idle was on 17:1 and the Full throttle pull was about 12.6-12.8 On Jackson Racing page it is written that it is just "plug and play" (no need to tune it). Yea, right, and i'm an idiot who believed them.
