That is a Civic HX.

You forgot the G

1HGEJ7. (All applies to 96-00, unless I say)

EJ6 = DX coupe, DX hatch, CX hatch, DX sedan
EJ7 = HX coupe, JDM coupe
EJ8 = EX coupe, EX sedan
EM1= Si coupe, Asia(non-Japan) VTi coupe, EDM VTi coupe

What you THINK you have, but don't:

EK3 = hatch VTi D15B 3stVTEC
EK4 = hatch SiR B16A
EK9 = hatch Type R B16B

There are more JDM hatches, but these are the main ones used in mistakes.

First you're missing a # or letter in the beginning,

Second, if its EJ7 its an HX I guess someone swapped your motor before you.

am i mistaken, but i thoughtthe only coupes in japan where import there.

its also one of the lightest coupe models, and it has a front sway bar just like an Ex etc...

No they were sold there, right hand drive and all than jazz. They were built here, and then imported over. They only had one trim level, called "Coupe"

All JDM 5G coupes were E-EJ1, SOHC VTEC D16A, 130 PS

All JDM 6G coupes were E-EJ7 SOHC VTEC-E D16A 120 PS

YAY for learning somethinh new!
