Default D16 Y8 ... Going Turbo ... Need Some Assistance Please

Im looking into Turboing My D16 Y8. I am not going all out with this car. It is my commuter car, and I just want some extra umph out of it. I want to swap, but its too much time and effort. I know there are alot of contraversy over the different kits out there, but I have had experience with the Greddy Kit when my buddy owned and Si, so I feel that a good way to go. Any one have any idea where they have the best prices for these kits?

eBay usually has the best prices on Greddy kits. Search the h-t sponsor classifieds. I know there are a few that sell the kits.

If you just want some extra "oomph" added to your daily commuter, I'd get a used JRSC on ebay for $1000.

Going turbo will take just as much time and effort as a swap. I'm definately not suggesting that you swap, I think you would be much happier with a turbo D, but I just want to make sure you understand that you're still getting into some work.

Well, honestly, I shouldnt be doing this at all with a baby on the way. But I wanted to have some fun at the same time. Turbo is definately fun. Im not rich by anymeans, but Im just putting money away for other things as well. Im putting little by little for my Civic. Just to remain in the hobby. My motor only has 87k mi on it. Thats why I dont want to swap out. Plus a swap will run me a little more espically for what I want.

Shop around. GReddy kits have gone for dirt cheap, I mean $4-600 cheap with everything (FMIC, BOV etc..). Shop around and ask questions, best advice I can give you as a 2 time D16Y8-T owner

Do it right and it will treat you right.! and for the guy that said to get a supercharger hahahah dont waste your time! youll be alot i mean ALOT better off with a turbo D. Also if anyone trys to say the greddy kit sucks this and that tell them to **** off there is a hatch doing flat 12s with them and a stock motor with no slicks! good luck trying to find one your best bet would be ebay local racing web sites and the honda-tech for sale threads

I was discussing with a buddy of mine tonite about either piecing together one or just going Greddy. I think Greddy will be my kit of choice. It has everything I need.
