Blowing wastegate gaskets
Okay i have a 38mm Tial wastegate it came with two gaskets. The bolts for the flange between the manifold and wastegate loosend off and toasted the gasket. The down pipe was still okay. My garage then ordered my gasket header gasket and made 2 new gaskets, they are almost like heavy duty paper and it ****** blew the bolts were tight. I want to put the origional tial gasket in there and make sure the bolts are tight is theis a commen problem or is there a solution like using header cement or what?

you dont need a gasket. the fire ring should seat just fine without one. tial gaskets suck to begin with
I agree, the Tial gaskets are not very good. also you may want to put a straight-edge on your flanges to make sure they aren't warped, if that's the case, no matter how good the gasket is, it won't seal.
so u guys have no gasket just metal on metal and it holds that impressive thats for the advice you guys have been a huge help

atpturbo has some good gaskets for the wastegate. i was running without one for a lil bit but the screws would shake loose after a while and eventually seperate from all the vibration i would imagine, since i was running it straight out the down pipe. anyways check out their site, the gaskets they sell are really good quality.
