Default BOOST on a GSR

Here's my qeustion.

i'm busy with swapping a GSR engine into my eg6
in the future im going to boost

How much psi can i boost on stock head?

im planning to get a blockguard and some pistons and rods

because the gine is now out of the car so it's much easier to do it know.

so how much psi boost on a stock head?

well its not really about how much power ur head can hold, really its about how much ur bottom end can hold. u are gonna want to port ur head and possibly get a valve train so that it will flow better and u can rev it but its not the head u would be worryed about over exerting, unless ur trying to rev real high. anyways i hope i understood and answered ur question correctly and good luck with ur set-up.

i now our button and isnt that strong..

that's why i gor low cr pistons, but the head with some good aftermarket springs and valves retainers is strong enough to boost like 15 psi to start?

or can i boost 15psi with stock head?

ive seen h-t member here boostin their stock gsr head and made pretty good hp....see,you got to understand that its your bottom end that is gonna be taken most of the abuse...not the head...if i were you,ill worry more bout my bottom end not holdin that 15psi than your head...and to answer your question,yes,you can boost 15 psi on a stock gsr head....well,hopefully this could help you out a little bit...good luck!!!

ive seen over 20psi before and over 500whp on a stock gsr head

thnx then i leave my head stock for the moment.

an go for some wiseco pistons and eagle rods

what cr should i take 9.9 or 9.1?

its all depend on what you want and your goals....if me, i would go stock compresson...now i got 9.7:1 ross pistons and its actually doing me good....so,its all up to you....
