Default sfwd t/4 guys how long do u ride 1st gear??

i usually ***** out and shift 2nd quick.......how long do u bounce it off the rev limiter on 1st????

1-do u wait till teh car catches up to the speed of the tire or just wait a certain amount of time b4 u shift????

2- between 1-2 2-3 3-4 do u let off teh gas or stay on it and shift maybe 3-400 rpms early????? i noticed due to me having a lightweight flywheel the car drops off alot between gears....an oem flywheel would definitely keep the momentum up in teh rotating mass and keep the booost/rpm's up..... any advice?

I generally let it bounce then shift into second. Not sure how long I just wait till it grabs. Sometimes I shift too quick.

I was taught to stay in first gear and bounce off the rev-limiter until you can barely see the 60' marker out of the corner of your eye. It worked pretty good for me. got 1.6 60'

I bounce it off the limiter till around 330 too. Seems to land in a decent spot in 2nd gear on a GSR trans. What about you guys?

this in an 1/8 mile....don't know what it runs in a 1/4.we tried shifting just before the 60' and we went 7.73 then we shifted just after the 60' and lo and behold 7.50 that is us spraying out of the hole.this is another one of my nitrious tuned cars.just the back seats and p/s seat taken out.we are currently looking for a set of ek hatch doors and this car will be knocking on 6's door.

how's it going cubish...

"i noticed due to me having a lightweight flywheel the car drops off alot between gears"

doesn't a lightend flywheel make your car stay higher in the rpm's after you shift?

What I do is go from first to fourth then back to third then into fourth like on fnf. Then maybe downshift to second then to third. Then I nail the nawzz. M@d t!te

no the rpm will rise faster with a lw flywheel but will fall out of rpm quicker due to less rotating mass
