Default Fresh block, coolant leak. Pics...Help please...

Alright well i just put my motor together and got it in the car, i believe it is leaking from this location noted by the RED arrow, is this common? It comes out as fast as it goes in I put new o-ring's on the coolant pipe so i can understand why it would leak here, im not 100% sure its leaking from here, it is coming from the general direction and thats the only place i can think of.

from your description your coolant leak is on the back of the motor. there are a number of components on the back of the motor which can leak. until you pinpoint the exact and i mean exact location of the coolant leak you will be on a wild goose chase. start high and search your way down the back of the block. also, does it leak only when it runs or all the time. and does it leak worse when it runs or the same all the time?

ITs leaking from when i pointed the arrow, i havnt started the car yet evenb, and as i put water in the rad, it comes out of that location. The block is a JDM B16A if that matters...

ok. i have a jdm b16a also. the location you pointed out is the coolant pipe which comes off the thermostat and presses into the block. and you said you put new o-rings on there?
are you referring to when you rebuilt it or you put new o-rings in after you found the leak??
if you havent removed the coolant pipe since you found the leak i would suggest you remove it and inspect the o-ring to be sure it is not pinched, or the pipe is not seated correctly. either of these would cause a major leak. i have never personally had
this problem before, nor have any of my friends, so it is not too common that i know
of. lemme know what happens and if this info helps, if it doesnt help ill do some more diggin for ya.

also, if youre positive of the leak location and worse comes to worse, you could always apply some pressure resistant rtv silicone. its a temporary fix but if youre itchin to drive yer car then that could be the remedy for now.

Alright, i replaced the o-ring and guess what, KEEPS LEAKING.....grrr....i put alot of lube on it so it wouldnt roll, i dont know what heppened, but i guess i gotta do it all over again tomorrow...It feels like the pipe is sliding into the block too easy, do i need a different sized o-ring for a JDM b16, rather then a b16a2?

p.s. i also lost the little funky shaped washer thats in the fuel rail cap, where can i get one of those?

Ya, it was the o-ring, its not too hard of a thing to do, just take the 2 bolts out from your thermo housing that holds it to te block, and move it out a little and pull, inspect the o-ring, replace it, lube it up good, and bam, no more coolant leak

Thanks for all your help guys
