Limp Mode again.....
After the install and tune of my VAFC, my car was periodically going into limp mode, maybe once every couple months? Anyways last weekend at the 2 day lapping session my car went into limp mode about 3 times per day. I checked the oil and it was fine the entire time, any ideas on this?
are you trying to add too much fuel with the VAFC?
I had a similar issue with my Field SFC-VTEC controller years ago.... the car would run better with more fuel via Field controller.... but it would **** off the MAP sensor (code 3)
Apparently it was better if I removed fuel only....and added fuel via FPR....
I gave up....ripped it out...sold it.... and went Hondata....

1st off, I did get it tuned by a tuner who's done alot of VAFC installs and is a certified hondata dealer/tuner.
2nd off, I got really frustrated when I couldn't stay on the track for more than 5 mins so I pulled into the pits and put everything back to 0 and put the VTEC x over point back to stock. It was good for maybe 10-15 mins then I went back into limp mode again.
Another thing is when I shut off the car and turn it back on the CEL is still on but the car is not in limp mode.........then after a few laps it goes back into limp.

You need to check your cell and tell everyone what it is!!!! We cant help you if you dont know what it is!?!?!?!
My car throws a code for VTEC malfunction every once in awhile, I searched and found out its some wire (VTM or something) that needs to be hooked up. I still have been too busy to finger it out.
But yea, get the code and we can help..........

Sounds like a code 21 I think, VTEC Solenoid, but we'll wait and see. If so, I'd recommend dissambling, cleaning the spool valve (clean the screen), and insure it's free of metal shavings and moves without sticking at all. Then reassemble and see what happens. That solved my intermitten CEL problems with code 21.
Instructions for my VAFC 2 did not include the VTM hookup for my ECU. As soon as I adjusted VTEC points I got the limp mode and Code 22. Resetting the ECU and putting VTEC to the through (***** setting) no CEL. Put 1 and 1 together and pulled out the factory manual and got the VTM (Factory calls it somethig else) hooked up and no CEL.
Check the install, ensure that the VTM wire is hooked up.
