Default code 22 vtec oil pressure switch defective.....

My car threw a code 22 and saw it was for vtec oil pressure switch defective or unplugged/defective oil pressure switch. Im pretty sure that vtec isnt engaging at all and i dont think it had been before i bought the car. My question is, is this a fixable problem or do i have to buy a new vtec solinoid?
