Default my first time at the track help me improve my times

i went to battle of the imports this sunday and i got some preatty crappy times. help me improve my times
my set up is at my signature. this is in a full weight 2600+pound integra.
the car makes 198whp and 151wtq

remember this was my first time ever racing i was also on 225/50/15 bfg drag radials

1 got 3 runs in

1
60 ft 2.4 15.4 92mph launched at 4k

2
60 ft 2.5 15.3 93mph launched at 5k

3
60 ft 2.65 15.2 93mph launched at 5k

ppl say with my kind of power i could get in to the low 14;s high 13's but i just dont see how its possible. i know my 60 foot sucks ***. how much faster would my times be with a 2.1 60 feet??
i'll be going back to california speed way on the 13th to try again

wow for almost 200whp those are awful 1/4 times. i think i could make those times in my stock GS-R....

you need to practice launching...you might have a lot of wheelspin depending on the RPMs which would mean slower 60ft time. im not sure what you are shifting at but make sure it is as high as possible...when you shift, dont take your time, kick the clutch in and yank the shifter and dump the clutch as fast as you can..you should be able to do this in a split second with enough practice.

it is said that .1 off your 60' is .3 off your ET, not sure how true it is.... something else is wrong too though, even w/ shitty 60' you should be quicker than that....

yeahhh something is definately wrong....I hit those times in my nearly stock DA......what kind of tires are you running?! I noticed a huge difference in tires. especially in my 60ft times. Right now im running 205/45/16 Hankook Ventus K104's. I was running BFGoodrich T/A Traction 195/60/15's. HUUUGE difference. Wider tire=better traction.

you need to get some traction for your 60 foot times! I just got back this weekend and was pulling off 14.8s@ 89 mph in a ls.

Get some slicks or drak radials. I just bought bf goodrich TAs. went from 2.4 to 2.1/2.0's

keep goin to the track and drive as much as possible....
youre already on drag radials so you just need practice..

my friend went for the first time on a friday night w/ a 203whp Ef and ran a 14.9 @ 98 on shitty tires..he got down to 14.5 that night...

the next day, he got it down to 14.1@101...

were going again tonight, he should be in 13s on azenis and ill see what my almost stock *** 91ls will do...

but practice..it was your first time and contrary to popular belief, drag racing takes practice...
practice practice practice

i say work on your launch. 5k sounds too high to me. too little throttle, you bog the engine. too much throttle, you spin tires, don't hook and make smoke but don't get anywhere. i would say launching in the 3-4 vicinity would probably be better. and yeah, our engine makes peak power at 7800 rpm. so shift between 7800 and redline, no sooner.

It can't just be a problem with his launching if he's only trapping 93mph...there's a possibilty something is wrong with his engine. Like someone already stated...you should check out your engine to make sure everything is working fine.

I know this may sound stupid but jack up your car and check to make sure all the wheels spin smoothly. My rear caliper had seized and it wasnt very noticable driving around town but Im sure it slowed the car down some.

launch lower.. 5k is too high... Didnt you notice that your time was faster with the 4k launch then both 5k launches?? maybe launch at like 3500 or something... You dont want too much tire spin.

you need to launch lower. i know tires are expensive, but do a burnout before every run to make sure the tires are hot and nice and sticky; unfortunately i found out how important this is when i made my last pass with a passenger in my car.

1.) im pretty shocked at your 60ft times especially since you have drag radials. maybe launch a bit lower...get a feel for it. once you catch then floor it.

also, just from seeing your wheel horsepower, etc then i think I might know whats going on. on your dyno graph it should show your power band and what you want to be in when your racing. in my turbo teg i never let my shifts drop below 6200rpms, you gotta be quick and stay in that powerband. Its even more important with an all motor car because you don't have as much power....I was running 13.9's all day at 98mph with 189whp in my GSR 2 years ago when i was all motor and i was running 2.1-2.2's.....i also worked really hard at staying above 6k on my shifts....thats the key. staying in your power band.

It almost looks like you missed shifts or came out of vtec in each run. whats your vtec set at after the tune? are you dipping quite a bit lower then 6k on your shifts...i know 1st to 2nd is probably the hardest shift because first gear flys...but you really need to get that down if you want good 1/4 times.

thats the only thing i can think of. i've seen stock gsr's trap those times and get low 15's...so something is wrong.

goodluck next time ill be waiting for a repost. those drag radials gotta be getting you atleast a 2.2...practice different launching points.
