tein flex or ground control/konis
hey guys, ive been searchin all over the s2ki forums(been actin up lately) and honda-tech and i just wanted to get the opinions of those who own both these set ups.... which one would you prefer and why? are the teins worth it or should i just go with a custom rate ground control coilover set and some konis?thanks in advance for your guys help

I don't own either of these but from what I've read the Teins are more for the street then the track as they are really soft. The koni's and GC coilovers have more potential for track/autocross use.

The Koni/GC combo is a better product and you have a better range of tuning w/ custom valving as an option and a ton of different spring rates available.

if your intrested in track i'd go neither.. look into some higher end stuff. Tein RAs is what i'm planning on running, since i can't afford the RSs. Flex is a dual tube damper which = durability not performance.
If for streets... i won't matter what you get... you won't be able to push your car that far... well you probably could but that would be dangerous...

i tracked stock.. which was very good. and since i do plan on tracking my car i decided to get the RAs. since we have such a good stock suspension, most aftermarket stuff is a downgrade. only the higher coilovers will truely be an upgrade in handling. i'm picking up my Tein RAs this weekend. i'll let you know how they work out.

Nice plug since the GC include eibach springs
From personal experience, GC or any coilover(not full damper assembly) will have a terrible ride quality and worse performance. I've done research on this topic as well, and I would go with an aggressive spring on the Koni's. Or if money isn't an issue, buy the entire coilover set up. Here are some opinions on full coilovers...

the stock suspension is VERY trackable. i feel you run the risk of ruining a very great suspension, unless you really spend some money. i know several of my friends did trial runs to test some suspensions, and the stock setup ran quicker in almost every run. many will disagree with me, but that's my two cents.

I said from my experience with a GC coilover I wasn't happy with the results. I've owned two cars with an aftermarket strut/GC coilover combo. In both instances, I had better results with a simple spring.

flexes arent bad. they are pretty good for autox even though some people say they arent. my friend won solo2 nationals on flexes. so they cant be all that bad 
i wouldnt get the RAs...a LOT of guys on the s2k board are selling them because they are unbareable on the street. just my two cents. im planning on upgrading to the tein CSs mainly because i live downtown and want a smoother ride. if anyone wants teins, just drop me a line. i have a pretty good hook up on them. i can get the flexes for the s2k for 1200 + shipping.
