new gt turbo/ actuator question, pics inside
i just picked up my first turbo today. i got it from phoenix turbo. it came in like two days, not bad. i'm not 100% sure i should be overly happy yet though. i asked what the stock actuator was set at on the gt2871r and he told me it was like 14psi, i only want to boost about 6psi at first so i can mess around with crome and get the tune right and slowly work it up to see if i can get 300hp out of my set up. any way i asked for an adjustable actuator and they said o problem, and set me the one in the pic.
garrett part # 430099-0018 = $70
notice the rod is straight and i don't see any adjustment point on it. so am i high? (more than likely) or did they send me the wrong stuff? i did a search but not really any luck. does any one know the psi setting on it, if its low i can just bend the rod to fit and run a boost control.
any way thanks for any advice.

See the threaded part of the rod? Thread the arm out for less boost and in for more.
"Minimum" boost on the actuator is gotten by just having the flapper rest closed. More boost can be gotten by preloading it. Unfortunately if you adjust it past the point where the flapper is just resting closed, your spool time will suffer.

thanks
, i think (kinda feeling like a jack ***) i was thinking it would have something to do with adjusting the spring pressure like a reg on a paintball gun.
